Metso Outotec to supply plant equipment to Kamoa Copper in DRC

Kamoa Copper has selected Metso Outotec to supply key mill equipment to the Company’s copper mining complex expansion in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The value of the order, which is not disclosed, was counted in orders received from Metso in the second quarter of 2022.

Metso Outotec’s scope of delivery includes positive planet processing equipment including energy efficient HIGmill regrind mills with polyurethane wear liners. The delivery also includes Larox PF 60 series concentrate filters and TankCell flotation cells for efficient recovery of valuables.

Recently, Metso Outotec was placed an order of First quantum minerals for a ball mill and a SAG (semi-autogenous grinding) mill for its Kansanshi copper mine expansion project in Zambia.

Kamoa Copper is 39.6% owned by the Canadian company Ivanhoe Mines39.6% by the Chinese company Zijin Mining and 20% by the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
